The idea....

behind this group was to develop an outlet for craft beer enthusiasts and their passion - give them the atmosphere to actively taste, debate, and share all things beer.  By doing so this group will foster the growing sense of community within the beer scene in Edmonton.  A growing number of individuals are turning towards the craft beer revolution, which prides itself on having standards on such things as purity of ingriedients, care and attention when brewing, an analytical palate, but most of all a  desire to learn and enjoy the company of fellow beer geeks.

 

The group...

was started early in the summer of 2011 and is hosting events at a local pub on Whyte avenue in Edmonton.  Wunderbar Hofbrauhaus is where the meetings for the EBGA are held on a monthly basis.  Owners Craig, Levi and Chris are dedicated to enjoying quality music, art, and beer.  Wunderbar is proof of this, offering live music near every night, having local artists' work on the walls, and a well stocked cooler full of exciting craft and import beers.  

 

The premise...

behind each meeting is to look at a few new-to-market craft beers offered by breweries from primarily around Western Canada.  Often times a brewery representative will be invited to come and tell tales of how they got their start in the industry.  It is the goal to have some sort of guest speaker at each meeting; if you are someone interested in this, or know of someone, please visit the Contact page to send us an email!
